Most stylists, fashion designers, or just people simply interested in fashion, try to coordinate clothing colors with the appropriate season they are dressing in. Truthfully, even in Fall and Winter I often wear colors that some people would say should only be worn in Summer and Spring seasons. Maybe it’s because I live in Florida where true seasons don’t exist or maybe it’s because I really just don’t give a damn, haha. However, I figured since we are enjoying the sporadic cooler temperatures associated with Fall in Florida, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on perfect Fall colors (even though I wear these colors year round too-simply because they’re my four fav colors!)
Thanksgiving is a little over a week away which is insaneeee to think about! I feel like every year it’s the same thing-the holidays approaching so quickly that in a blink of an eye you’re ringing in the new year!

After a long week, it is always nice to look forward to doing something fun on the weekend! This weekend Kathryn and I are planning on going for dinner and drinks and ending the night at the movies to see Spotlight (we can’t wait to see it- watch the trailer if you haven’t).
However, if you’re anything like us, it can be difficult to find something to wear- even if our closets are packed full! Now, I learned this from my sister that it is always important to dress to impress because you never know who you’re going to run into and believe me when you least expect it, it will happen. So, since it’s going to be a semi-casual night we both wanted to wear outfits that were stylish but also in keeping with the tone of the evening vibe.
For us denim is a must have all year round. It can be dressed up or down and there are so many different styles of denim to choose from.
We love styling denim in the Fall! Here are two of our favorite pairs of jeans at the moment and how we styled them.
Our favorite denim trends this year are distressed and flare jeans. I love skinny jeans, but I’ve always had a pair of flares in my closet and I love wearing them in any season! I’m happy they are finally officially back because stores are now carrying all different brands and versions of the flare. I especially love these high waisted ones-they’re so comfy!
As we mentioned before, we love Marshall’s and TJ Maxx but somehow Ross seems to be at the back of peoples’ minds or even completely forgotten when it comes to buying nice things for great prices. My sister, Kathryn, doesn’t frequent Ross near as much as I do, but it doesn’t mean they don’t have as much to offer as Marshalls or TJ Maxx.
I will say I typically don’t shop at Ross for clothes, although I tend to glance at the clearance section while I’m there and I have found some super nice stuff like Michael Kors jeans for $20 and a Marc New York jacket for $25. It’s always a good idea to quickly look just to see what they have. For instance, I even found several pairs of J Brand jeans there tucked in the clearance racks. Hopefully, this post will inspire you to give Ross another chance because you never know what deals are hiding there!
Sooo currently in Florida we are experiencing a record setting heat wave. Sweating like we’re in the middle of July is putting a stop to any of our cold weather ensemble ideas. Cozy sweaters, scarves, and coats are probablyyy going to be hanging out in our closets for longer then expected this year.
Even though we can’t currently wear any cold weather appropriate clothes, doesn’t mean we still don’t dress for the season. Fall in Florida mostly consists of incorporating Autumn colors in a wardrobe appropriate for 90 degree Novembers.
Here are some of our ideas for styling a Fall wardrobe in a not sooo Fall climate. If you’re lucky enough to enjoy some crisp November air, take our ideas and throw on a nice coat or jacket and some tights to warm it up!
So, since I have a job interview coming up for a job that I’m super excited for, I decided to write a post about how to dress for any job interview in case there are any readers out there who panic when they have to decide on what to wear.
Preparing mentally for an interview is stressful enough, so hopefully this will help take some stress away from the physical preparation! One of the first things my sister told me about dressing for my very first job interview was that you’d rather over dress than be too casual.
Now, obviously I’m not advising anyone to wear a ball gown when going on an interview, but you should try to find something that is classy and professional all while being comfortable because you want to make sure you can be yourself too!
Forever 21 is one of those stores that has a bad rap. I often hear that people say that they think the quality isn’t there, the clothes are too young, or that shopping the store is overwhelming.

And on one hand I can agree, shopping in a Forever 21 store can be overwhelming! I personally am not a huge fan of going into the store-I never seem to find much. But to be honest Forever 21 online is probably my favorite place to shop online. Yes, you read that right FAVORITE!
While I can stumble into a Forever 21 store and find nothing, I can peruse their website and load my cart up with 50 different pieces. There are so many different things to look at that I can sit there for farrrr too long going through all the different categories, accessories, sale items, etc.

Here are a few of my tips for shopping at Forever 21 online and a few of the pieces I currently have sitting in my cart anddd that I probably will end up buying after I post this.
You can easily take an outfit from day to night with a few simple swaps!
I love this classic ensemb. a striped off the shoulder top, some boyfriend jeans, and a black bootie. Throw on a red lip and you’re golden! It is perfect for running errands, brunching with friends, doing my most beloved hobby: shopping!
If I’m wearing this throughout the day and don’t have time to change for a night out, I can easily make a few swaps to kick it up a notch without having to style a whole other ensemb.
Even though Nordstrom Rack is the discount version of Nordstrom, it can still be a very pricey shopping spree at times.
However, that doesn’t mean you can’t find some great deals there. They typically have an additional 25% or 30% off clearance at certain times of the month, called clear the rack! Even when clear the rack isn’t going on, we typically shop only in the clearance clothes section because they have a large selection of nice stuff, then we meander to the shoes and accessories to see what’s going on in those departments.
Like I said before, since their clothing, shoes, and accessories consist of higher priced, name brand designers some of the items you pick up will give you a heart attack when look at the price tag-even if it is on clearance, trust me!
