Trending Fall Fashion Colors!

November 17, 2015

Most stylists, fashion designers, or just people simply interested in fashion, try to coordinate clothing colors with the appropriate season they are dressing in. Truthfully, even in Fall and Winter I often wear colors that some people would say should only be worn in Summer and Spring seasons. Maybe it’s because I live in Florida where true seasons don’t exist or maybe it’s because I really just don’t give a damn, haha. However, I figured since we are enjoying the sporadic cooler temperatures associated with Fall in Florida, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on perfect Fall colors (even though I wear these colors year round too-simply because they’re my four fav colors!)

Olive

I love the color olive (or really any green for that matter) because you can wear it with pretty much anything, and it’s something that I don’t see as often, which makes me appreciate it more. Most people associate green with growth and renewal therefore may think of olive as a spring clothing color, but I see olive as a fall like color because it’s not too bright and it gives off a soothing vibe. I recently found a Joe Fresh olive green distressed shirt at Marshall’s on clearance for $12. I was so excited because like I said it is a hard color to find and this long-sleeved shirt is thin and has fringed edges and a nice opening at the neck. I thought it was a great piece to add to my wardrobe!

Love this olive long sleeve v-neck from American Eagle for only $24.95! Or this open back option from Asos!

Navy

I love the color navy blue in every aspect whether it’s clothing, bedding, or household goods! I think it is a very clean and cool color that once again can be paired with pretty much any ensemble. I have several navy clothing items from a black and navy faux leather jacket shown in another post to tee shirts and my favorite, a long-sleeve shirt. After Fall/Winter last year, Marshall’s put all their ‘winter’ clothing items on clearance and they had a ton of Max Studio navy blue long-sleeved shirts for $10 (in every size). So, of course I bought one because Max Studio is a quality brand and this, in my opinion, was a great price especially because the material was that super soft cotton. It was an item that I knew I could wear over and over-at least 10 times to get my money’s worth! Kat and I always say we always have to wear an item of clothing as many times as the amount we spend on it in order to get our money’s worth- and we always do!

Dolman sleeve navy top at Forever 21 for $12.90!

Also loving this navy dress too!

Maroon

Maroon is probably my favorite color to wear because it is not too bright like a candy red so it is much softer against the skin, but it is just so gorgeous and not seen enough in the fashion world! I’ve been dying for a pair of maroon sneakers because the color is perfect to wear with black, brown, navy, or white. With Fall and Winter seasons containing so many varied colors of reds, I think maroon is a perfect, festive color to wear in these seasons! I have a v-neck maroon shirt that I bought from Urban Outfitters on sale for $9. It’s actually a men’s (size x-small) because the women’s didn’t have maroon and of course I couldn’t pass up my fav color.

Grey

Now, I know grey has become a popular color for fall fashion trends as I’ve seen in plenty of magazines, but I chose to put it on here because it really is one of my favorite colors in all aspects of my wardrobe from shoes, to pants, to shirts. Just like the color black, you can never have too much grey, I say! I’m sure some people think grey can be dull and boring, but I think it’s very clean looking and can spice up a look instead of always settling for black just because it’s a classic. I have a pair of grey Michael Kors jeans that I bought at Marshall’s on clearance for $29. I not only love the fact that they’re grey because it gives me some contrast to my usual blue jean, but they also fit really well! Grey is a color that can be styled in almost any outfit, pretty much like the rest of the colors listed above, so it could be a staple in everyone’s closet!
