Sooo, for Memorial Day Weekend we are taking a mini vaca to Savannah, Georgia! I cannot wait cause I have only heard wonderful things about this charming destination. Kat has been there before but we still wanted to compile a list of things we want to do and restaurants/bars we want to try!
I loveeeee spooky things so one of my must dos is the Blue Orb Ghost Tour. It got amazing reviews and is definitely something different to try.
The Olde Pink house seems just like a classic tavern to try when visiting Savannah. It’s an 18th century mansion that serves classic southern cuisine with live music!

The first day of Summer is June 20th which is a couple of weeks away, but here in Florida those Summer, pool party temps are already happening.
Beach days, pool hangs, and whatever other water activities you’re into [water-balloon fights anyone!?] are quickly approaching if not already occurring where you live. So we haveee to break out the swimwear, am I right?
Swimwear shopping for us personally is not something we’re too excited about. Don’t get us wrong we love a cute suit, but heading to a dressing room to try on swimsuits in often terrible lighting caaan send your day into a downward spiral.
So instead of torturing ourselves in a fitting room we’ve linked some of our current favorite {affordable} suits that you can order online, try on in the comfort of your home, and send back if you find they are not the right fit for your bod.

1.Lace Up Heels
Now my number one favorite in March was lace up sandals, so obviously there is a trend happening here! I just can’t get enough of the lace up trend. These three pairs were so incredibly affordable, which made them even more of a favorite to me!
The black Forever 21 pair is currently sold out but I’ve linked the other two here and here!

Celebrating our moms or even the motherly figures in our lives, is really special to Kat and I. And of course the go-to gift is the bouquet of flowers and a card, but with all that moms do, it is nice to treat them to some special but affordable gifts!

With Cinco de Mayo this Thursday, it is only right that we share our favorite margarita recipe with you all!
It is beyond delicious and so simple and customizable. We hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating and ¡Salud!
{INGREDIENTS}
Tequila! [3oz or depending on desired strength of marg]
Obviously this is a must have unless you are making a mocktail!
Juice! [1 cup]
This is my favorite to use because it isn’t very heavy but super delicious. You can totally use regular orange juice too!
Frozen or fresh mango! [2 1/2 cups of frozen mango or 2 ripe mangos cubed]
Now, this is a super important ingredient as these are mango margaritas. I always have frozen mango on hand as it is one of my favorite snacks, but fresh works awesome too! If you use fresh mango you will need ice to add to the blender.
Limes & Hot Sauce! [2-3 small limes//dash of hot sauce]
You will need the juice of two limes for the blending of the margarita and one half of a lime to use for the rim and garnish. The hot sauce is optional. I love a little kick, but adding the hot sauce in is totally up to you!
Sea Salt (or Sugar) & Chili Powder! [1 tsp chili powder// 1 tsp sea salt]
These ingredients are for the rim and you can use salt or substitute sugar if you like a sweeter rim!
{STEPS}
- Add all the ingredients, except the chili powder and sea salt to the blender and blend until smooth. If you choose to use fresh mango, make sure and add a handful of ice cubes to the blender. Taste and adjust sweetness/alcohol strength. If you prefer your marg sweeter add some extra mango or even some agave syrup!
2. Use a wedge of the third lime and rim the edges of your glasses. Immediately dip the glass rims into the chili powder and salt [or sugar] mixture to coat. Cut thin slices of the leftover lime to garnish.
3. Pour in your margarita mixture and enjoy!
We know we normally don’t post recipes on our blog, but we hope you enjoy this festive margarita recipe! Let us know if you try it out & how you like it!
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Incorporating color into our Spring wardrobes is one of the most fun parts about dressing this season. We love bright pieces that have unique features and details, but of course they have to be affordable!
Tee scored this gorgeous Vince Camuto coral top from Marshalls for under $15!
We absolutely loved the sheer details on the top and hemline. It is so light and airy-perfect for Spring.
She paired the top with some charcoal leggings and bluish-grey wedges.
The bright pink pops so perfectly against the grey bottoms!
She finished off the look with these stunning earrings from ILYMIX.
Don’t forget to use our code KathrynNicolaus20 for 20% off your purchase!
As you know by now, I have been lovinngggg overalls back in my life, so when I saw this pink overall dress was an extra 20% off during a CottonOn sale I had to snatch it up!
To keep the look casual, I paired it with an off the shoulder black and white striped T from Zara and some classic white Converse.
This look is so unbelievably comfy!
Let us know how you’ve been styling some bright colors into your wardrobe this Spring season!
If you have an Instagram you know that this past weekend was weekend numero uno of Coachella. I’ve always wanted to attend and dress the part, listen to some live music, and basically just pretend to be a flower child of years past.
Even though this is not my year to attend [next year anyone?!] we still wanted to put together some fun festival inspired outfits.
There are so many fun Festivals to attend all over the country this Summer! [ here are the details on each & every one]
Even if you’re not planning on hitting up any of those festivals, dressing up and blasting some music on your balcony or in your backyard will almosssst do the trick.
Denim cutoffs and a Muscle T-I don’ttt think you can get more festival ready!
Denim Cutoffs: Marshalls
Muscle T: Cotton On
High tops: Urban Outfitters
Earrings: Jewelrybean {use code Kathrynnicolaus20 for 20% off your entire order!}
These earrings add the perfect balance of edge and femininity. Bonus they are only $15 {even cheaper if you use our coupon code!}
Tee finished off her look with a pair of black high tops. Perfect for running around and dancing all day!
Coincidentally, and unplanned, Guns ‘N Roses is actually at Coachella this year! This is one of my all time favorite band T’s. It is so unbelievably soft, and I love the cutout shoulders.
And I mean, Sweet Child O’ Mine-need I say more?
Pairing this T with some super distressed boyfriend denim shorts felt like the perfect match.
Band T: Forever 21
Distressed Boyfriend Shorts: Forever 21
Boots: Steve Madden
I love these Western style boots from Steve Madden. I scored them online for an extra 40% off making them less than $35!
I know I’ll be styling them all Spring & Summer long.
If you have any upcoming Festival plans, first off I’m jealous, second I hope our ensembs gave you some outfit inspo!
Soooo, even though this was unplanned haha, Kat and I somehow managed to both feature something blue in our outfits! It works out well because we both absolutely love all shades of blue, and it is the perfect color for these warmer months!
Kat loves wearing dresses any chance she gets, so for this outfit she is wearing a summer styled dress she bought on sale from Cotton On!
It is super light, almost a terrycloth material which makes it perfect for this warm weather!
For some added detail, there is a lace up feature on the front. And of course some necessary accessories were in order!
Kat’s fav footwear this season are the lace up sandals! They were a perfect touch for this summer look.
My pop of blue came from a tank I found on clearance at Marshalls! As soon as I saw this color with the detailing I couldn’t pass it up!
I always loved blue and black together, especially a bright blue, so I paired it with some distressed black jeans from Saks off 5th.
The cutouts for the design pattern as well as the keyhole on the back made this shirt worth every penny!
I chose to pair it with some taupe, suede wedges to keep the outfit a bit more dressy!
Here are some similar picks as above!
Please share with us some of your favorite shades of blue!
In Florida it is that time again. Spring weather has brought us some warm temps! Some days muuuuch warmer than others, and the shorts have come out to play.
Now my legs don’t necessarily feel ready for my relationship with shorts to begin quite yet, but with the temps heating up day by day I can’t imagine sweating it out in jeans some days.
So for those days I pull the shorts out of the closet {along with some Sally Hansen air brush legs-a must right now with my pale stems} and I have some ready to go ensembs.
//classic denim distressed//
You can’t beat a pair of classic distressed denim cutoffs. They scream Spring and Summer and can be paired with literally anything!
This pair from Marshalls has a longer inseam and if you’re a girl with a booty you often need that extra inch or two-otherwise your shorts may not look like shorts and instead look like denim underwear.
Paired with a casual T {Project Social T makes some of the most comfy t-shirts eveeeer!} and a pair of flat sandals, you’ve got a cute and casual look.
//white & bright//
A pair of white shorts can always be dressed up.
They can look so clean and crisp paired with a bright flowy blouse and some wedges. They can be a great alternative to a dress and still keep you cool during those warm temps.
//neutral distressed//
A neutral distressed pair is a great alternative to your classic denim.
I love this BDG brand khaki green pair from Urban Outfitters. Paired with a neutral top and some lace-up sandals you have a casual but chic look.
We will definitely be rotating these 3 ensembs throughout the upcoming months!
We’ve also found some other great affordable short options for you online! All pairs are under $30!!
Let us know your favorite shorts to wear during Spring and your favorite pieces to pair with them!
One of the most fun parts about dressing up for a night out during Spring is the weather. Even in Florida the nights are still a little cooler, so the weather is absolutely gorgeous!
Picking out some fun transitional pieces and incorporating some bright Spring colors allows for a perfect night out ensemble.
Tee pulled out her favorite sleeveless sweater from Marshalls and styled it for Spring. Sleeveless sweaters are perfect for this time of year!
We are still lovinggg tops with side slits. They add a different element and look so cute with high-waisted jeans.
I love incorporating boho pieces into my Spring wardrobe. Especially tops and dresses with cutout shoulders and crochet details.
I absolutely love this top from Forever 21. It was insanely cheap {I got it on clearance!} and it is so comfy!
Pairing a bright color with a dark skinny jean always looks chic and on a chillier night it keeps you warmer.
