Sales, Sales, Sales!

August 17, 2016

We’re coming to that time of the year when Fall Fashion is slowly creeping into our lives. While the weather is still warm hot, I know I’m beginning to dream of boots, jackets, and sweaters.

This is also the time of year where sales are constant. Brands are beginning to put their Summer staples on sale to make room for the Fall and Winter pieces. Living in Florida definitely allows us to wear our Summer wardrobes for quite a bit longer so I love to shop these sales. You can find great transitional pieces that don’t break the bank!

We went through some of our current favorite sales and linked some great pieces for you to browse!

Tie-dye & Tassels

August 11, 2016

For our Summer style countdown, of course we had to style some of our fav summer tops featuring tie-dye and tassels!  We were fortunate enough to receive some amazingggg and beautiful tops that we picked out from Romwe.

This site is absolutely fabulous because not only do they have sooo many trendy clothing options, but they’re super AFFORDABLE!

IMG_1099

Kat chose this lovely blouse that had some eye catching details and colors! Better yet it is under $20!!

IMG_3937

What really made her fall in love with this top are the blue and black tassels and of course the bell sleeves!!

With fringe and tassels being so popular in summer she couldn’t resist! And of course pairing it with our JORD watch was essential.

IMG_6753

DSC_0447

If you know Kat, you know she’s obsessed with heels so of course she had to pair the tassels on her top with some stunning black tassel heels she bought from Forever21.

DSC_0402

I’ve been loving that tie-dye life lately especially for summer.  However, I’m picky when it comes to certain styles like the ones that are super bright that you see families wear are just not my thing haha.  I was so happy when I found this lightly faded colored tie-dye on Romwe.

DSC_0406

The material is actually totally different than I expected which was an awesome surprise.  Instead of it being a cotton tee, it was super silky so I could def see myself dressing it up!

DSC_0392

I dressed down the top for this post and paired it with my one and only gorgeous Kate Spade backpack and white Nike Stefan Janoski’s.

DSC_0398

The shades of colors used in this top aren’t your typical greens, yellows, and pinks which made it even more desirable.  The softer shades of pink, purple, and blue make it much classier and look super expensive.

Both Kat’s tassel top and my tie-dye are courtesy of Romwe, but all opinions are our own.  We definitely recommend that you check this site out, guaranteed you’ll find something and it won’t break the bank!

We love wearing blue. It is always such a flattering shade no matter what the season!

I love this top! It is under $22 and the embroidery detail is so beautiful.

I’m wearing it as a tunic top, but if you are shorter than me {I’m 5′ 6″} you could definitely get away with it as a dress!

Puerto Rico, I love you!

August 3, 2016

Returning back from vacay is always hard, but returning home from Puerto Rico was extra tough! It was such a FUN trip and I can honestly say I fell in love with the city of San Juan.

We’ve already been talking about hitting things we missed on our next trip there!

TO DO

[Old San Juan]

We took an entire day to explore Old San Juan and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was so incredibly beautiful! Strolling the streets and exploring the rainbow colored buildings and historic forts was so fun. We tasted some delicious food and of course some Puerto Rican rum.

These doorways though!

IMG_6948

We stumbled upon Casa Melaza rum boutique as we were exploring the city and it was so cute!

They have more than just rum, but when you are in the rum capital of the world you can bet that’s what I’m going to taste!

We shared a flight of delicious rums. They have a few different flight tastings to choose from ranging from years aged. We learned some Puerto Rican rum history and had an amazing time!

The Current [5] Favorites [3rd] Edition

July 26, 2016

Now that July is beginning to come to a close [insane btw!!] we wanted to share with you some of the items we’ve been currently loving!

[ T E E ]

1. Bubba Keg

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 6.08.08 PM

I know everyone’s new obsession are the YETI tumblers etc. butttttt I have always been a proud supporter of the brand Bubba Keg.  It is just as nice and keeps my drink super cold with ice for like 18 hours which is insane!  My favorite part about it is that they’re a FRACTION of the price of YETI cups.  You can find them for amazing deals at Marshalls and TjMaxx.  Both the stainless water bottle and the mini keg were each only $12.99!!  Check out those stores before you buy online!

2. One-piece Swimsuit

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 6.17.56 PM

Kat and I recently ordered bathing suits from Boohoo during their sale, and I am in loveeeeee with my new one-piece.  It fits amazing, is sporty and comfortable, and was only $12! If you’re looking for a swimsuit one-piece or bikini this place has so many options and they’re all gorgeous and AFFORDABLE!

3. Ross

Ross has always been one of my go-to stores mainly for shoes, but lately I’ve just been running in there scope out the scene and see if they have anything good and boy did they!  I found so many amazing deals from Stefan Janoski’s for $34.99 to a white Dri-fit Nike hat for $10!  The men’s section in particular has been stocked full of amazing items (just in case you’re looking for your dad or significant other)  I def recommend you stopping in!

4. Delirium Tremens

delirium_tremens_2__11098_orig

With summer being as stifling hot as it has been, there’s nothing like a nice cold refreshing beer to cool you off!  My tastes for beer has changed and recently my go-to is Delirium Tremens or DT as people call it.  It’s a very strong beer alcohol percentage wise, but it’s not heavy in my opinion.  The only negative is that since the alcohol content is high, the beer tends to be a bit pricier and you can’t buy it at every grocery store.  ABC Fine Wine and Liquor has it to purchase and the bar called Brass Tap has it on draft!  If you like beer like me, this is def worth a try!

5. Tie Dye

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 7.05.04 PM

I’m not really talking about the traditional tie dye rainbow colors that you see people wearing haha, but I love the faded, washed out tie dye tee’s and shoes like with pinks, white, blue, green, purple or any color.  I think it looks so cool when the shoe or shirt focuses on one color and fades it out turning it into tie dye pattern!

[ K A T ]

1. Graphic T’s

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 8.17.28 PMScreen Shot 2016-07-25 at 8.23.33 PMScreen Shot 2016-07-25 at 8.23.44 PM

Lately with these super hot Summer temps, I’ve been getting a little lackadaisical [definitely had to google the correct spelling of that word haha] with my wardrobe. It’s just so hot that I’m reverting to shorts and t’s most days. Luckily for me graphic t’s could not be cuter these days! Some of my favorites have been from Forever 21 and Windsor because they’re super affordable but still on trend.

2. Summer cocktails

Normally I’m a champs and wine drinker. Whether I’m out or home those are definitely my beverages of choice. But lately I’ve been experimenting with some fun cocktails at home and have been loving what I’ve been concocting! Moscow mules have been my absolute go-to this Summer. Just so refreshing and light. But the other day I tried this margarita recipe and I’m in love! It is definitely my new favorite and so simple to make.

3. Jord Wood Watch

I have been sporting this watch with eevverything this Summer. I just feel like it is so Summery! Tee and I paired it with casual and dressy looks here! It would definitely make an awesome gift for that watch lover in your life [or just for yourself!].

4. NJ Housewives

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 4.50.14 PM

Yes my name is Kathryn and I’m a housewives addict. In all its table flipping glory [season 1 what’s uppp!] NJ Housewives is back, Teresa’s out of prison, and seems like she’s ready to jump right back into the drama. If you’re a Bravo addict like me I’d love to hear your take on the season so far!

5. Aveeno 24 hour moisturizing lotion

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 4.47.22 PM

Being at the beach and pool this Summer I wanted to make sure my skin was staying moisturized so I tried an old favorite again and fell back in love. I have no idea why I ever stopped using this guy! I legitimately feel like this lotion moisturizes my skin for 24 hours. And it really has helped prolong any tan I have gotten! Definitely not going to let him go this time around.

Let us know your current favorites! We’d love to hear about what you’ve been loving so far this Summer!

Back to BASICS [black & denim]

July 21, 2016

There are so many fun trends to try during Summer that sometimes you neglect the basic pieces in your closet. Off the shoulder, embroidery, pom-poms, and tassels are so much fun to wear that you might ignore those plain solid colors.

So for a fun night out look we put together two simple, classic ensembs that could even transition into some cooler {a girl can dream!} weather.

But not without a few details! Lace-up tops and polka dots take your basic black and white blouses up a notch.

TASTE [ Arctic Zero ] REVIEW

July 20, 2016

Doesn’t this {almond} milkshake look delicious?! The recipe is below!

Now if you know me you know I have a huuuuge sweet tooth. I’m a dessert over dinner type of person, which is unfortunate because I know sugar is supposedly the devil.

I have tried in the past to find “healthy” treats to curb this neeeed for sweets and have mostly failed and gone back to the hard stuff (brownies, Sour Patch Kids, Publix cookies).

One healthy sweet treat I had previously tried was Arctic Zero and to be honest I did not love it. So when Arctic Zero reached out to us and offered to let us try some of their new flavors, I figured why not try again. It can’t hurt!

DSC_0310

Now if you’re not familiar Arctic Zero is a fit frozen dessert. It is low calorie-some flavors are only 150 calories for an ENTIRE pint [ummm yes please!] Click here to learn more about their products. But bottom line these desserts are essentially guilt free and have no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors.

Tee and I sat down and sampled the flavors they sent and we were definitely pleasantly surprised!

Now here is the number 1 pro tip and something I did not do the first time I ever tried this product. You need to let it sit at room temp for 10-15 minutes or for us impatient people microwave for 30 seconds.

This makes the biiiigest difference! It makes it super creamy and more of an ice cream texture.

DSC_0315

Tee’s favorite flavors: Brownie Blast {instant favorite} Snickerdoodle Dandy {has sugar cookie pieces in it!}

Least favorite: Banana Pudding {not feeling this banana flavor}

DSC_0319

Kat’s favorite flavors: Poppin Pomegranate {tart & so refreshing!} Brownie Blast {perfect when you are craving chocolatey deliciousness}

Least favorite: Cake batter {I wanted to like it soooo much but the taste just wasn’t doing it for me}

When I tried the brownie blast flavor, I knew I could make a “healthy” milkshake with it and it turned out AMAZING! Definitely try it out and let me know what you think!

[Brownie Blast] milkshake

INGREDIENTS

-1 pint Arctic Freeze brownie blast

– 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk {alter according to desired thickness}

-optional toppings:

-chocolate syrup

-whipped cream

-mini chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a blender, blend brownie blast and almond milk until smooth.

2. Pour into desired cup, then top with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and mini chocolate chips {or whatever desired toppings you wish}

DSC_0355

This was so tasty!

I’ll definitely will be trying it out with other flavors and toppings.

We’re excited to experiment with some other flavors and recipes and luckily will feel pretty guilt-free doing so!

Let us know if you’ve tried Arctic Zero before and what other flavors we need to give a-go!

Beauty

Let’s get [ G L O W I N G ]

July 14, 2016

It’s Summertime which in my book means glowy skin!

I mean living in Florida glowy basically means sweaty, let’s be real. Summer temps are brutal here buuuut I feel half the fun of dealing with the heat is making the most of your sweaty glistening skin.

Now my skin type is definitely oily so I have to be really careful when achieving a glowy makeup look. I don’t want to go too overboard or I can just look like an oily, sweaty mess.

Not the look most of us ladies go for, am i right?

If you’re on the drier or normal skin side you don’t have to be as careful when applying your glow!

I’m going to share with you my favorite products this Summer to achieve that glowing skin look.

Think that JLO glow.

#GOALS

MOISTURIZER

Now even though I’m an oily skin gal, I still need to moisturize. My favorite for the Summer has been the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. They make a normal version and one for extra dry skin. It absorbs super fast and is the first thing I apply before any makeup.

Screen Shot 2016-07-08 at 12.07.47 PM

The number one must for glowy skin is definitely hydrated skin!

LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER + FOUNDATION

This is the trick that will set you up for a ‘glow from within‘ look. Mixing your foundation with a couple of drops of a liquid highlighter or illuminator will make your entire face glow.

I have been looooving the L’Oreal Pro Glow Foundation. It is lightweight and so perfect for the hotter temps.

DSC_0239

I mix that in with a pump of my Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer for that extra glow.
