//It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas//

December 13, 2015

This is our first affordable home decor post and it couldn’t come at a more fun time! We absolutely love decorating for the Holidays. It really does not have to cost a lot to decorate your home. The most expensive piece in my home around this time is our Christmas tree. We {ahem, I} like a giant, real tree so that caaan get a bit pricey. But all of our other Holiday decor is budget friendly!

This post willll be overflowing with pictures because even though we are always together, we don’t live together. So we have two separate homes to decorate. We also each have our own unique twist on holiday decor!

I absolutely love having a bar cart in my place {as does my boyfriend haha}. It is so fun to style and decorate and even more fun when you’re ready for a beverage! Above my bar cart I have this white distressed frame that I love from Home Goods and I switch out the prints depending on the season.

This print is from Etsy and was a digital download so it was $5 and then I just printed it out! I found a similar version with the same quote here!

Our favorite places to find affordable Holiday home decor is Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Target, and Michaels. Michaels has great coupons this time of year on all their Holiday decor!

And I know I’m not the only one who hangs a stocking for their dog!

I am obsessed with gold decor any time of year, but I throw even more in there around the holidays. This string of gold ball ornaments lights up and is actually from IKEA. They have a super affordable Holiday section so I definitely recommend checking their stuff out as well.

DSC_0460This ‘Jingle all the Way’ print came with the gorg mirrored frame and was only $7.99 at TJ Maxx! The nice part is you can switch out the print and use the frame throughout the rest of the year.

You don’t have to go overboard to dress up your home for the Holidays. Just adding this gold reindeer from Marshalls and these glittered tree cones from Michaels added some Holiday spirit to this shelf.

This is another piece I use year round. I bought these from Ross a few years back for under $10. I fill them with whatever fits the season. Around the Holidays I love filling them with a mix of mini gold ornaments from Target and some mini pinecones!

This vase is definitely one of my favorite pieces in my home. It was $12 from Marshalls but looks so much more expensive. During the Holidays I fill it with gold branches and leaves I bought from Michaels.

Now in my house the tree is the star of the show. This tree gave us some serious battle wounds getting it through the door and up a flight of stairs, in a tree stand buttttt it was well worth it! It took my boyfriend a while to agree that it was worth it haha but you can’t not love a huge tree in your house!!

Our absolute favorite place to shop for ornaments is Target. We buy all our favorites after the Holidays when they are super marked down. Even though you have to wait a while to use them again it is seriously worth it I promise!

I love adding fake flowers into the tree to give it a pop of color! Also you can’t forget the basketball ornaments.

As Kathryn said, Target is one of our fav places to buy Christmas decorations once the season is over because you can get them 90% off! Almost every ornament on my Christmas tree is from Target and literally only cost 10 cents because there was no price tag on them and the manager just wanted to get rid of the Christmas stuff! You can only imagine the smile on my face when I checked out with some of these absolutely gorgeous ornaments.

Bealls is another store I like to meander after the holidays and see what decorations are left over. One year I was lucky enough to find an advent wreath for only $10. It is one of my moms favorite decorations and I agree because it has gold glass candle holders and tons of glitter (my fav). You can’t beat a deal like this!

I also picked up a few other holiday items in the last few years from Burlington, Target, Walgreens, and Marshalls. I always love a mini Christmas tree because I think it goes well in a bedroom where there isn’t a ton of space for Christmas decor. Surprisingly Walgreens had large sized fake trees with lights on clearance for only $3 and $5 and of course I bought both and more!IMG_0098 IMG_0094 IMG_0099

There are some crazy good deals out there after the holidays from trees to decorations to vases and other decor so it’s always important to check the stores out! We hope you all will take our advice and score some good deals on holiday decor after the holidays!
