Let’s get [ G L O W I N G ]

July 14, 2016

It’s Summertime which in my book means glowy skin!

I mean living in Florida glowy basically means sweaty, let’s be real. Summer temps are brutal here buuuut I feel half the fun of dealing with the heat is making the most of your sweaty glistening skin.

Now my skin type is definitely oily so I have to be really careful when achieving a glowy makeup look. I don’t want to go too overboard or I can just look like an oily, sweaty mess.

Not the look most of us ladies go for, am i right?

If you’re on the drier or normal skin side you don’t have to be as careful when applying your glow!

I’m going to share with you my favorite products this Summer to achieve that glowing skin look.

Think that JLO glow.

MOISTURIZER

Now even though I’m an oily skin gal, I still need to moisturize. My favorite for the Summer has been the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. They make a normal version and one for extra dry skin. It absorbs super fast and is the first thing I apply before any makeup.

The number one must for glowy skin is definitely hydrated skin!

LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER + FOUNDATION

This is the trick that will set you up for a ‘glow from within‘ look. Mixing your foundation with a couple of drops of a liquid highlighter or illuminator will make your entire face glow.

I have been looooving the L’Oreal Pro Glow Foundation. It is lightweight and so perfect for the hotter temps.

I mix that in with a pump of my Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer for that extra glow.

CONCEALER

I neeeed concealer for my under eyes regardless of what kind of makeup look I’m doing! Dark circles are no friend of mine.

{does anyone else make the weirdest faces when they put on concealer?!}

I have been using the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal lately and love it. I use it just to highlight under the eyes, down the nose, and a little on the chin. It’s only $5 so I definitely recommend giving it a try!

POWDER

Now if you have drier skin you many only need to set your under eyes, but because I’m oily I also like to lightly set the rest of my face. I try not to be heavy handed with powder because I’m going for a luminous look and don’t want to erase all the glow I’ve been putting down!

I use this no color powder and a damp sponge to set!

BRONZER + BLUSH

I love bronzing my face with this bronzer and then topping my cheeks with a light dusting of an illumizing blush. My all time favorite is definitely Milani Luminoso!

POWDER HIGHLIGHT

Now my favoriteee part is definitely the highlight!

In order to achieve that beaming glow, I always spritz my brush with some rose water spray or makeup setting spray before I dip it into the highlighter. This just intensifies the look on the skin. If that is not your thing and you’re going for a more subtle highlight you can definitely skip that step!

My favorite highlighters to use are Becca Opal, Mary-Lou Manizer, Laura Gellar Gilded Honey, or this amazing and affordable highlight from Makeup Revolution.

I like to dust the powder highlight on the tops of my cheekbones, temples, down my nose, cupids bow, and a touch on my forehead. Let’s be real, its pretty much going almost everywhere!

I also love dusting it on my collarbone, center of my chest, and shoulders.

Last step for me is always dousing lightly spritzing my face with Mario Badescu’s Rose Water spray. This is going to emphasize that glow even more and erase any look of powder from your face.

If I know I’m going to be out for awhile I usually spritz some setting spray also. Because I’m oily and live in basically the swampland {no offense Florida, I love you} I usually need something to set my makeup in place.

Alright that wraps it up! I’d love to hear any of your favorite glowy makeup products as I’m always down to try a new highlighter!

Thanks for reading!

Omg I’m loving these tips! I need to start spraying my brushes with my Mario Badesco, too! Also, applying my translucent powder with a damp sponge. I have oily skin too so this was all helpful lol. I just got the Becca highlighter in champagne! Love love!!

I thought that was Makeup Revolution in your instagram pic!! I love that I can actually buy a product that I’ve seen and want!! I love the La Girl blush, bronze and highlight pallete so I’m going to try their concealer too. Are the Mario Badescu products natural? I’ve been wanting to try that spray since I saw another beauty blogger using it. In fact, I want to try all of these products ?
The makeup faces we pull are hilarious, my mascara one is so charming.
Enjoy the rest of your day lovelies
